Life is hard, but you have to admit you get more oppotunity over here than you do in jamaica. Isn't that why jamaican and other people come over here?

Sorry… I cannot agree with you! They do what they can; and that happens to be a lot more than some (English)! I think the Jamaican women are hardworking grafters but the men are slightly more willing to do anything that makes a lot of money quickly! This is a problem as weak men create a weak ‘new’ generation. Boys and girls learn from their fathers and if they see a man go out every evening and earning money every time his phone rings; and always looking behind his back, police coming to the house, etc this is disastrous! But if you look at the Jamaican population the ratio of male to female is 1:4; and it is common for a woman to be raising 3 or more children alone, who typically will be born from 2 or more different men. It is a sad fact that Jamaica was colonised by the British and it was their aim to establish social systems similar to that of the UK (councils, local/national democracy, etc); but when they left after independence – it was left like many 3rd & developing countries – it was left in the hands of corrupt greedy officials. So the men and women come here and do what they can because the bottom line is – they are poor! Look at Jamaica’s education system… if you are 'brainy' you go to a high school if not you go to some ‘other’ school. Now, I know it is linked to how ‘bright’ you are but poverty plays a role no matter how ’bright’ you are; if there’s no money to buy the uniform – you aren’t going to school! Jamaican’s are very proud people and rather that, they would leave JA to come here and sweep floors in McDoncalds or plait hair in a barbershop, that is ok! What is not on is killing someone else’s child by selling them drugs!

listen theres ways and means how 2 get round certain obstacles..........no body payed my college fees no ones been paying my rent, so weh uno a tell mi seh? stop teck up fe dem Its not a matter of taking up for them . Its circumstances and everybodys are different. There are alot of Jamaicans that work very hard ( working from 6am- 9pm), just to provide for their families. Then you have the ones that work off their own time. They are not all careless. I bet you were one of those same people and now you've made something of yourself- you want to behave as if your better than them.

Jamaicans are not the only people that have and are still struggling! People are struggling all over the world. But what gets me is that Jamaicans came to this country long before the asian people. And we are the ones that are at the bottom of the food chain. Because we don't want to work or work together! Some where along the lines we have given up the will to fight & instead depend on hand outs! Educate our children and stop worrying bout latest hair style and fight over who's mans who's!
